Registration for the 2026 TSAFF Service Training and applications for the 2026 TSAFF Political Training Academy are now open.
Both events will be held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Fort Worth Downtown, 600 Commerce Street, Fort Worth, TX 76102 from Monday, Sept. 14 (1 p.m. start) to Friday, Sept. 18


The deadline for the TSAFF hotel room block rate at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Fort Worth Downtown is Monday, August 24, 2026. Please make hotel reservations by clicking HERE.

Sessions include:

  • - Workers Comp 101 for firefighters
  • - Deep dive into Chapters 141, and 143, and statutes affecting firefighters
  • - Protecting firefighters’ rights, what is best for your local
  • - Introduction to TLGC 142 and deep review of Chapter 174
  • - Discussions of negotiations and strategy
  • - Support available for bargaining and preparation for the meetings

Service training schedule:

Monday — 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesday-Thursday — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (including lunch)
Friday — 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (if necessary)

The Service Training registration fee is $40 per TSAFF member — due by Friday, September 11, 2026. Fees are non-refundable but may be transferred to another attendee. Each participant (or his or her local) will be responsible for their own travel, lodging and meals. To register, click the button below.

About the Political Training Academy (Tuesday-Friday)

This program will educate and assist political newcomers and campaign veterans alike on running successful campaigns. Whether you plan to support candidates for elected office or run a ballot referendum, this training is Texas-focused and developed. The hands-on political training course, taught by outside campaign experts and TSAFF staff and leaders, includes classroom seminars, small-group skill practice sessions and a campaign simulation. Topics include:

Sessions include:

  • - Developing an effective campaign plan
  • - Targeting voters
  • - Recruiting volunteers
  • - Mastering polling
  • - Fundraising and budgeting
  • - Developing effective messages
  • - Working with the news media
  • - Getting the vote out
  • - Complying with campaign finance laws

Because of the interactive nature of the PTA, class size is limited. Please apply for the PTA by clicking HERE.
